The Harrison Veterinary Clinic is located ten minutes from Thunder Run Stables, so that in an emergency, a veterinarian is only minutes away.
 

Our primary veterinarian is Dr. W. David Grinstead (Doc Dave), a reproductive specialist and one of the finest human beings we know.  His patience, wisdom, generosity of spirit, and love of horses make him a joy to deal with on a daily basis in breeding season, and we are proud of our yearly near 100% in foal rate since we have been working with Dr. Grinstead

Doc Dave is our usual emergency veterinarian as well, though his partners, Dr. Jacob Givens and Dr. Jim Rice, may be the vet on call some late nights.  All of the vets from the Harrison practice live in the town of Cynthiana, so that, even during a late night emergency, a veterinarian from that practice is no more than a few minutes away.

 

We also maintain a good working relationship with the excellent, famed equine hospital, Rood and Riddle, for serious emergencies and surgeries.
