OSCAR
HALL
TRAINER
Thoroughbred Center, Lexington, Kentucky
Smith-Smoodin Bloodstock and Thunder Run Stables maintain a close working relationship with second-generation Thoroughbred
trainer Oscar Hall
Oscar Hall believes in the same hands-on philosophy as we do and literally
grew up on the backside of race tracks and learned the old fashioned, patient, serious horsemanship at his father’s
knee.
A successful Thoroughbred jockey until he suffered a career-ending injury, Oscar Hall trains a small stable for a select
group of owners, and gives his horses the type of intense attention that we too think is absolutely necessary for clients
who truly love their horses.
Oscar even does most of his own exercise riding, so that he knows exactly how your horse handles every type of track
and every distance, and can communicate to you the kind of first hand information you can rarely get from trainers in these
days of huge stables, in which many trainers are more like business managers than true horsemen.
Oscar is based at the Keeneland-owned Thoroughbred Center in the heart of Lexington, offering him proximity to all
of the area racetracks, such as Keeneland, Churchill, Turfway, River Downs, Beulah, Kentucky Downs and Mountaineer. Given the abundance and riches of the new Kentucky-bred program, can you afford to race anywhere else?
Oscar is also the Trainer for the Smith-Smoodin-Bloodstock Racing Syndicate. If you are interested in Syndication,
